Nicola Roberts, the 40-year-old Girls Aloud singer, has offered a look into her life as a new mother, two months after the birth of her first child with fiancé Mitch Hahn. Roberts took to Instagram to share recent moments with her baby daughter, whose name has not yet been disclosed.
In her post, Roberts shared a makeup-free selfie while on a stroll in a pink baby carrier, captioning it "sunshine and snuggles with her pretty lady." Other images showed her daughter resting on her chest while Roberts was in bed, smiling at the camera. The singer also included snapshots of outings, including visits to a London park and a florist.
Roberts announced the birth of her daughter on May 24, stating she had arrived a few weeks prior. She described the baby as "beautiful" and expressed the joy of holding her. The singer revealed that her daughter was born at 38 weeks, weighing 6.5 pounds, and is thriving.
During her pregnancy, Roberts underwent surgery at 22 weeks to help sustain the pregnancy. She had previously announced in January that this procedure would prevent her from performing in her West End role as the goddess Persephone in the musical "Hadestown." At the time, she was 34 weeks pregnant and had been advised by doctors to rest for the final trimester.
Roberts announced her pregnancy on Christmas Day, sharing that she was five months along and anticipating the baby's arrival in the spring. She and Hahn, a former footballer, became engaged a year prior during a trip to the South of France.
Fellow celebrities and fans extended congratulations to Roberts, including Jess Wright and Katie Piper. Roberts is the last member of Girls Aloud to become a mother. Her bandmate Sarah Harding died in 2021 without children. Cheryl Cole has a son, Kimberley Walsh has three sons, and Nadine Coyle has a daughter.
