New York State received a low grade for its party scene, with only two of its universities appearing on Niche.com's 2027 ranking of the nation's top party schools. Syracuse University ranked 14th, and SUNY Albany was placed at 45th on the list of 50 institutions.
Florida State University in Tallahassee secured the top spot, followed by Tulane University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Dayton, and the University of Southern California.
Pennsylvania State University, which was recently in the news regarding a cocaine trafficking ring involving two fraternities, was ranked sixth.
Methodology
The rankings were compiled by Niche.com, an education research website, based on student surveys and nightlife statistics. Students were asked to rate their colleges on factors including nightlife, Greek life, and proximity to bars. The site considered more than 1,400 schools nationwide for this ranking.
According to Niche.com, top party schools feature a vibrant and diverse party scene with enjoyable options both on and off campus. Students at these institutions also tend to rate their peers as fun, friendly, and inclined to party.
