New research indicates that women possessing six particular physical traits may receive more attention from men on online dating platforms. A recent analysis of data from the dating app Badoo identified characteristics ranging from height and hair color to eye color and nail grooming habits as being particularly noticed.

According to Badoo's findings, nearly half of men surveyed, specifically 46 percent, expressed a preference for women whose height falls between five feet three inches and five feet six inches. While experts acknowledge that individual preferences vary widely, this particular height range appears to attract the most engagement on the app.

In terms of eye color, the research suggests that women with brown eyes receive more attention than those with blue eyes, a finding that may contrast with romanticized portrayals. Around 60 percent of men surveyed favored brown eyes. Experts note that while eye color can be a factor, the act of making eye contact and the expressiveness of one's eyes may hold greater significance regardless of color.

Regarding hair color, the data indicated that brunettes received a substantial 40 percent of messages on the platform, significantly outperforming blondes, who garnered only 15 percent. Previous research also highlights the importance of hair in first impressions, with one poll finding that 74 percent of men notice a woman's hair, and 44 percent identify it as the first feature they observe.

One of the more notable findings pertained to body type, with Badoo reporting that women described as having an 'average' figure received more attention than those with athletic builds. This suggests that beauty standards might be more diverse than often portrayed. Evolutionary psychology offers a potential explanation, with a 2015 study from the University of Texas at Austin suggesting that men may be attracted to a specific lower-back curve, which could have offered ancestral advantages during pregnancy.

Attention was also found to be influenced by grooming habits, specifically nail care. Women with clean, well-groomed nails tend to receive more online attention. Relationship experts suggest that grooming can signal self-care and confidence. The trend toward natural, polish-free nails also appears to be favored.

Perhaps the least surprising discovery was the significance of a genuine smile. Previous research by Match Group found that smiles are crucial, with 60 percent of men and 71 percent of women citing teeth as an important feature on a first date. A smile is often perceived as making a person appear more approachable, positive, and friendly.

While these findings offer insight into what physical traits might capture attention in the digital dating landscape, experts caution that there is no universal formula for attraction or finding love. Personal chemistry and individual preferences remain paramount, and these data points represent trends rather than absolute rules.
