A New Jersey woman faces multiple charges after a distinctive tattoo on her leg helped a friend identify her in a disturbing social media video. Victoria Cranmer, 25, was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a toddler after the video surfaced on her Snapchat account.
According to court documents, a friend of Cranmer discovered the 14-second clip. The friend had been housing Cranmer for three months and had provided her with a phone. Upon returning the phone, Cranmer's friend found the video, which allegedly showed Cranmer on a toilet while a 2-year-old girl touched her. The friend reported that Cranmer was heard laughing and mocking the child in the video.
The filing states that the friend was able to identify Cranmer due to "the suspect’s tattoos on her leg, specifically a tattoo of ‘boobs,’ a lightning bolt, a mushroom, and a hip tattoo." The friend also recognized Cranmer's voice and the bathroom depicted in the video.
Cranmer had allegedly been caring for the friend's daughter and another child. The mother of the boy involved reported Cranmer out of concern for her son's recent behavioral changes. The boy was reportedly young enough to still be wearing diapers.
Cranmer is charged with second-degree sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, manufacturing of child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material. During a court hearing, a judge ordered her held without bail pending trial.
Cranmer's attorney argued that the video depicted an "innocent moment" and that the child was too young to understand personal boundaries. However, the judge described the situation as "bizarre" and "troubling," noting Cranmer's failure to stop the child's actions and her decision to film the incident while laughing.
