Tragic new details have emerged regarding the death of Ethan Browne, son of musician Jackson Browne, according to a medical examiner's report. Paramedics discovered Browne, 52, unresponsive in his apartment on November 25, 2025. The scene revealed a significant amount of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and medications throughout his bedroom.

According to the report, Ethan Browne was found holding a straw and lighter. Items found at the scene included a glass pipe with crystalline substance and brown residue, a burnt piece of aluminum foil on the nightstand, vaping devices, "whip-it" cartridges, and multiple prescription medications. A box containing apparent illicit drugs and paraphernalia was also discovered on his bed.

Ethan Browne's roommate last saw him around 8 p.m. the night before his death, noting that Browne "seemed off" and was possibly under the influence of drugs. He was last known to be alive when he went to bed at 10:30 p.m.

In January, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed that Ethan Browne's cause of death was the combined effects of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and lidocaine. His father, Jackson Browne, announced his son's passing on social media the same day, stating Ethan was found "unresponsive in his home" and requesting privacy for the family during their difficult time.

Ethan Browne, born in 1973, was the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major. He pursued a career as an actor and model, appearing in films such as "Hackers" (1995) and "Raising Helen" (2004).
