NBC has officially canceled the medical drama "Brilliant Minds" after two seasons, with the network confirming the show will not be renewed. The decision comes amidst a reported decline in ratings, though network executives expressed pride in the series and a desire for fans to see the planned conclusion.
Liza Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal, stated that while the network loved the show creatively, the cancellation was necessary. She assured that the remaining episodes of season two were produced to provide fans with a satisfying ending to the story.
The second season of "Brilliant Minds" consisted of 20 episodes, with the season finale airing on July 1. The cliffhanger ending in the final episode left lingering questions for viewers, but the series will not continue to address them with new episodes.
Despite hopes from fans and cast members for the series to find a new home on another platform, no such developments have been announced. Fans can rewatch the series on Peacock, which offers various subscription tiers. Peacock Premium is available for $10.99 per month with ads or $16.99 per month ad-free. Annual plans offer a discount, costing $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads for 12 months.
