Alex Accetta, wife of Alabama men's basketball head coach Nate Oats, has been rehired by the university, the school announced Thursday.

Accetta will serve as the director of program relations for the Crimson Tide. In this capacity, she will report to Shane Lyons, executive deputy AD/chief operating officer and men’s basketball sport administrator. Lyons stated that Accetta's "extensive background and proven success in this space at both the collegiate and professional levels" will be valuable to the program.

Accetta previously worked with the Alabama basketball program in various capacities, starting as a student assistant in 2015. She was later promoted to operations coordinator in 2017 and then to director of basketball operations in 2021. She spent the four seasons prior to her return working with the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, focusing on guest experience and business operations.

Nate Oats, 51, married Accetta, 31, in July 2026. Oats has been the head coach at Alabama since March 2019. He received a contract extension following the 2025-26 season, which is set to keep him with the program through the 2032 season. Oats and his ex-wife, Crystal Oats, finalized their divorce in 2023 after 26 years of marriage and have three daughters.
