Sophia Petrovich, a reporter for WKRN, Nashville's ABC affiliate, has announced her departure from television journalism to focus on Bible study and ministry. After approximately six years in the industry, Petrovich stated that her deepening relationship with Christianity has led her to a new career path centered on faith.

Petrovich shared her decision in an Instagram post on Sunday, explaining that her passion for reporting and serving the community had been fulfilling. However, she indicated that months of studying scripture have shifted her priorities. "Over the last year, my heart has fallen in love with the Bible and all I want to do is study His word, and make sense of the radical love story that is the gospel," she wrote. "So although I'll always love news, the sole desire of my heart is to minister to people, share Jesus and study His word!"

While Petrovich's exact future in ministry remains undefined, she expressed trust in divine guidance for her next steps. "I'm not sure what the future holds for me and my love for ministry, but not a lot of people in the Bible knew what they were being called to until they were there," she stated. "I just trust Jesus to open and close doors! He is FAITHFUL! I can't wait for the journey ahead!"

Petrovich's tenure at WKRN lasted over a year, during which she covered stories across the Nashville area. Her journalism career began after graduating from Clemson University in 2020. Prior to joining WKRN, she worked at WSPA 7NEWS, a CBS affiliate serving parts of North Carolina and South Carolina, gaining experience in local news reporting.

In recent months, Petrovich's social media content had begun to reflect a growing focus on her Christian faith. Since February, she had been sharing videos about her faith, noting that she had been reading the Bible daily for the preceding six months. Her online presence increasingly featured topics such as Bible study, premarital counseling, and theological discussions, signaling a transition toward faith-based content.

Her career change has received support from colleagues and peers, with Fox News reporter Olivianna Calmes and on-air personality Joe Breezy offering words of encouragement. WKRN colleague Katelyn Quisenberry also expressed excitement for Petrovich's new endeavor.
