The perplexing mystery of hundreds of solar-powered speakers emitting messages from a California hillside has been resolved, revealing the work of an anonymous individual motivated by a desire to promote world peace and veganism. The discovery was made by Karrie Ann Snure, who stumbled upon nearly 200 speakers hidden on a hillside near Mount Shasta.

Snure initially described the sounds as a haunting blend resembling white noise, prompting speculation ranging from government projects to supernatural activity. Upon closer inspection, she found that each speaker played a separate message, including mantras about salvation, peace, compassion, and veganism. "Where is this coming from?" Snure reportedly posted on Facebook. "This is straight apocalyptic."

After weeks of online speculation, Snure tracked down the property owner, who identified himself only as a man deeply passionate about veganism and world peace. He explained that his intention was to "elevate consciousness" and "affect the universe" with positive messages. "His purpose was for elevating consciousness like trying to affect the universe, you know, with his positive messages," Snure told Arizona Family. "Some people believe that that kind of thing works, and to a certain degree I actually do too, but I think it needs to come from a human energetic place, I don't think digital devices really tap into that."

The man, who has made Mount Shasta his home, communicated with Snure via text messages, expressing a belief that a lack of veganism is contributing to global imbalance. "It's a critical time of the earth and human. Peace is almost here now. However there is another war people did not realize," he stated in one message. He also added, "If the slaughtering of our animal co-habitant friends don't stop, this heavy karma will come back to us."

The property owner detailed a plan where one speaker would be removed for every 10 people who committed to becoming vegan, and another for every 30 who promised to try vegan food and share video evidence online. "I sincerely pray for world peace," he wrote. "I hope what's happening now could help people to awake and choose a more compassionate way to treat others. Love thy neighbors' includes human beings and animals. Therefore transit to more compassionate diet habits."

Snure later shared updates addressing concerns about the installation's impact on wildlife and its technology. She learned that the speakers do not rely on Bluetooth but instead play preloaded recordings. The unsynchronized nature of these recordings created the initial "haunting" drone. "I can only speak from my own experience: I didn't begin hearing the speakers until I was probably within about 50 feet of them, so personally, I'm not concerned about that aspect," she stated regarding wildlife impact.

Initially discovered on June 23 by Snure and her daughter while horseback riding, the speakers were found scattered across the hillside. The owner has requested his identity and the exact location remain confidential to prevent trespassing on his private land. Snure has dismissed wild theories suggesting government involvement or other clandestine operations.

Mount Shasta itself is a location steeped in mystery, known for its association with Indigenous traditions, New Age beliefs, and alleged UFO sightings, further adding to the intrigue surrounding the speaker installation.
