Reality television personality Davis Mallory has revealed his new girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan, approximately one year after publicly announcing that he no longer identifies as gay, attributing the shift to his religious faith. Mallory, 43, known for his appearances on MTV's "The Real World: Denver" and "The Challenge," shared images of himself and Vaughan traveling and embracing in various locations on Instagram.

Mallory captioned a carousel of photos on Sunday, stating, "It's crazy what love can do. I love you @rachelevaughanaa." He also shared a video post, writing, "Thankful for new memories that someday turn to old photographs."

According to TMZ, Mallory and Vaughan met in 2022 while he was DJing a wedding. Their relationship developed after they traveled together as friends, with their romantic involvement beginning in August, as reported by the publication. Vaughan also shared posts featuring the couple, noting their first meeting "in the middle of the ocean" where they encountered "wild horses and hitchhiked up the valley." Mallory's public statements in 2025 about his sexuality marked a significant shift from his earlier public persona. During his time on "The Real World: Denver" (2006-2007), he came out as a gay Christian. He later competed on three seasons of "The Challenge" before addressing his experiences more directly.

In a 2025 Instagram video, Mallory stated, "God really pulled [him] out of that lifestyle a year ago." He spoke at an Arise House of Prayer and Worship event in Hawaii, recounting his upbringing in conservative Christianity and the difficulties his family had with his homosexuality. He described his past 20 years as living the "gay lifestyle" but expressed that divine intervention had altered his path.

Mallory detailed experiencing strong visual dreams that he interpreted as spiritual warfare and consequences of returning to sin. He also posted a written statement on Instagram, conveying his belief that "being righteous and following the law is his perfect plan for us" and that sin dishonors both God and oneself.

Previously, in 2018, Mallory had spoken with Out Magazine about his journey. He aimed to provide positive representation for gay men on "The Real World" and received messages from viewers who were inspired to come out to their families. He also discussed his efforts to reconcile his faith and sexuality, stating at the time, "I fully believe you can [be gay and a Christian]." He pursued this by reading theological texts and engaging in debates at universities across the U.S. on the subject of homosexuality and the Bible.
