MS NOW host Jonathan Capehart struggled to contain his laughter on Sunday after airing a supercut of Donald Trump's assertions regarding the "immense power of the state" and the restoration of "fair, equal and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law."
The montage featured clips of the former president making these claims. Capehart, reacting to the compilation on "The Weekend," suggested that such statements might reflect reality on an alternate Earth, but not on "Earth 1."
Capehart stated that Trump "has treated the Justice Department as his own personal law firm, going after his perceived enemies while rewarding his allies." He later apologized for his reaction, attributing it to fatigue from a late night due to the holiday weekend, saying, "I just want to apologize to everybody; we are all delirious because it was a late night because of the 4th."
