A mother is suing Sky Zone, a trampoline park, after an adult allegedly entered a private birthday party area and caused a severe injury to her son. The incident occurred on March 9, 2024, at a Sky Zone location in Mt. Kisco, New York.

According to the lawsuit filed on June 16 in Westchester Supreme Court, the adult, who was not identified, infiltrated a section of the park reserved for a private event. While the 4-year-old boy was on a trampoline, the adult allegedly collided with him, causing a broken femur. The child has reportedly been wheelchair-bound for months due to the injury.

The boy's mother, Deanna Russell, asserts that Sky Zone failed to maintain a safe and private party area. Her lawyer, Joanna Karlitz, stated that an incident report was filed with the park, but no action has been taken.

Sky Zone's guidelines indicate that children under 12 must be supervised at all times and that the parks welcome visitors of all ages. Russell is seeking unspecified damages for her son's injuries.

This lawsuit follows a similar case filed by a Florida mother. Tameisa Sutton sued a Sky Zone in Boynton Beach on June 9 after her child broke a leg on a trampoline when another child reportedly jumped in the same area, violating the park's alleged rule of one child per trampoline. Sutton is seeking over $50,000 in damages.

Sky Zone has not yet responded to a request for comment regarding the Westchester lawsuit.
