A mother and her two-year-old twin daughter were killed when they were struck by lightning in Margate, Florida, on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., according to the Margate Police Department.

Kenya Glasgow, 31, and her daughter Kennedi were found on the sidewalk after the lightning strike. First responders provided immediate medical attention and CPR at the scene before transporting them to separate hospitals, where both were pronounced dead.

Kam Glasgow, the husband and father, described the event as a "1 in 1.2 million" freak accident. He stated he witnessed the lightning strike and felt residual energy from the ground before seeing his wife and daughter. "A bolt of lightning came down, I got hit with the residuals from the ground and I looked over and that’s when I saw them," he told The Post.

The couple had been together for 15 years and married four years ago. They have another twin daughter, Kensli. Kam Glasgow expressed his grief, calling Kenya the "love of my life" and an "amazing spirit with the biggest heart."

The Margate Police Department has stated that the incident is under investigation. The family is reportedly receiving support from their extended family and friends.
