Dina Spann, 58, was swimming in the Silver River in Florida's Marion County with her family on Saturday afternoon when a nearly 10-foot alligator attacked her. The reptile lunged as Spann attempted to shoo it away with a stick, her son, Zach Guerrina, told The Post.
Guerrina, who was on the family boating trip, recounted the harrowing moments after the attack, describing his mother's right arm as being "hanging off by a thread." Bystanders immediately sprang into action, using Spann's bikini top as a makeshift tourniquet to staunch the severe bleeding. They later added an anchor rope to further secure the dressing.
Despite the gruesome injuries and the chaotic situation, Spann remained remarkably calm, according to her son. "She was just as calm as a f
king cucumber," Guerrina said. "It was a crazy situation and she was the calmest one there."
