Adva Lavie, a Penthouse Pet facing multiple felony charges for allegedly stealing from older men, has filed court papers seeking a diversion program, detailing a past of alleged sexual abuse, illicit drug use, and work as a paid escort. The filings, submitted Tuesday, aim to avoid a potential decade behind bars.
Lavie, who is engaged to billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, claims she is a victim of lifelong sexual abuse that led her to become a high-end escort. According to court documents, a forensic psychologist hired by the defense, Dr. Robert E. Brodie II, conducted extensive interviews with Lavie. In these interviews, she described relationships where men paid her for sex, including frequent trips to Las Vegas. During these encounters, Lavie reportedly used cocaine, ketamine, and mushrooms for the first time, stating she was introduced to drugs by one individual who allegedly pressured her into sexual acts that re-traumatized her.
Allegations of Childhood Abuse
In the court papers, Lavie alleges that her father subjected her to severe verbal and sexual abuse. She described being called degrading names and having her mouth taped shut. The abuse escalated to physical contact, with her father allegedly touching her sexually multiple times a week. Lavie’s mother has reportedly corroborated these accusations, claiming Lavie’s father forced her to stand naked before him, watched her shower, and called her derogatory names.
Legal Troubles and Violations
Lavie is charged with six felonies, including grand theft, burglary, and unauthorized use of personal identifying information. Prosecutors allege she met older men through dating apps and subsequently stole from their homes. Despite efforts to avoid jail time and adhere to court-ordered terms, including wearing an ankle monitor, Lavie has reportedly violated court rules. These alleged violations include obtaining an Israeli passport, crossing county lines, and contacting witnesses. Judge Edber, overseeing the case, has so far refrained from incarcerating her.
Engagement and Future Prospects
Despite Lavie's legal entanglements, her wedding to billionaire Stephen Cloobeck is reportedly still on. Cloobeck himself faces felony charges for allegedly tampering with witnesses in Lavie's case. A spokesperson for Cloobeck stated that he understands Lavie's history and supports her treatment and personal growth. The motion highlights this relationship as evidence that the cycle of abuse defining much of her life is being broken.
A hearing on Lavie's diversion request is scheduled for August 10.
