Missé Beqiri, ex-partner of the late reality television personality Jake Hall, has spoken about the intense grief she is experiencing following Hall's death, drawing parallels to the murder of her brother, Flamur Beqiri. Hall, a former star of The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), died last month at the age of 35 after sustaining fatal injuries when he smashed his head through a glass door at a villa in Mallorca.
Beqiri, who shares a daughter, River, with Hall, stated in a new interview that the pain of losing Hall is comparable to the trauma of her brother Flamur's death. Flamur Beqiri, also known as Alex, was shot and killed outside his home in Battersea on December 24, 2019, by a masked assailant. He was 36 years old.
"Losing my brother, I had to learn to deal with grief. It was six years ago, but it still feels like a month ago," Beqiri told Fabulous magazine. "When I lost him I thought 'I will never feel pain like this again', then losing Jake, it was like: 'How's this happening to me again?'"
She described the difficulty of remaining strong for her children, saying, "I had to be strong. There's been moments where I was like 'I mentally cannot take another thing'. And then I look at my kids and I think 'yes you can, because they need you'."
Beqiri also reflected on how she intends to move forward, emphasizing the need for positivity and purpose. "There has been so much darkness for me that I've got to look on the bright side. I need to be positive. I want to find purpose. I don't believe Jake would want me to sit at home. He'd say 'get the f**k up.' He always used to say that to me. He was a pusher."
On Father's Day, Beqiri shared a tribute to both Hall and her late brother, honoring them as fathers and loved ones. She wrote, "Two men, dads, sons, brothers. Today it's Father's Day and I'm honouring these two fathers, my brother Alex and Jake...
I love you both and I know you're watching over us and the babies. Our hearts are broken and at the same time I laugh because that's all you guys ever did...
Life is very short, and sometimes we forget to look around us and say thank you, so Thank you. If it's one thing you can do today is that I've learned that my family; children, friends and kids are everything..."
Beqiri revealed that informing their daughter of Hall's death was the "worst thing she's ever had to do," and receiving the call about his passing was the "worst phone call of her life."
Jake Hall first gained fame on TOWIE in 2015 and was a regular on the series until 2017. He and Beqiri were previously engaged in May 2018, but later that year, a restraining order was issued against Hall following a dispute, though no physical violence was reported.
Following Hall's death, his family organized an "unconventional" funeral that included an exhibition of his paintings and a tribute to his fashion career. His family is establishing The Choose Everything Foundation in his memory, with proceeds directed towards its formation and for his daughter River. His brother, Sonny, stated that the family's aim is to "continue his mission" by supporting his passions for art and fashion.
