Millions of people across Europe and the United Kingdom observed a significant solar eclipse on Wednesday. This event marked the most substantial solar eclipse visible in the UK since 1999.

In the UK, the Moon covered more than 90% of the Sun. Meanwhile, some regions in Europe experienced a rare total solar eclipse. BBC science correspondent Pallab Ghosh, reporting from Burgos, Spain, described the spectacle as awe-inspiring, stating he experienced goosebumps.

The eclipse was visible in countries including Spain and Iceland, where a complete solar eclipse could be seen.
