Mick Jagger, 82, was observed with a cheerful demeanor, unable to contain his laughter as he posed with his fiancée Melanie Hamrick, 38, at the Festival Napa Valley's 2026 Summer Season in California on Friday. The Rolling Stones rocker appeared to be in high spirits, with his arm around Hamrick, a stark contrast to his visible disappointment just days earlier when England was defeated in the World Cup semi-finals.

Jagger opted for a casual ensemble for the event, wearing a pale green blazer jacket, a spotted shirt, and black trousers. Hamrick chose a figure-hugging black dress, complemented by red slip-on shoes and black sunglasses.

The defeat that left Jagger visibly dejected occurred on Wednesday, when Argentina scored the decisive goal against England during the World Cup match in Atlanta. England lost 2-1 in the semi-final round after a closely contested game.

Jagger was seen shaking his head in disappointment as it became clear England would not advance further in the tournament. During the match, the musician maintained a low profile, wearing a white baseball cap and a floral shirt, with his head bowed amidst the cheers of Argentinian fans.

This appearance follows a busy period for Jagger, which included the launch of The Rolling Stones' new album. He and bandmate Ronnie Wood were seen departing their album launch party in the early hours of the morning. They were accompanied by their partners, Melanie Hamrick and Sally Humphreys, as they left the afterparty at The Twenty Two Hotel and Members Club in Mayfair.

Jagger reportedly proposed to Hamrick approximately three years ago. Hamrick, an American choreographer, commented last year on the topic of marriage, suggesting, "Maybe one day, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything. I don't know what to call it, maybe simply happiness." She attributes their happiness to mutual support and presence in each other's lives.

Jagger and Hamrick first met in Tokyo in February 2014 during The Rolling Stones' tour. The band, including Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards, recorded their latest album, "Foreign Tongues," in under a month at Metropolis Studios in West London. They collaborated again with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, who also produced the band's previous album, "Hackney Diamonds." The 14-track album, slated for release on July 10th, follows the multi-platinum success of "Hackney Diamonds" released less than three years prior. "Foreign Tongues" also features a special appearance from Charlie Watts, recorded during one of his final sessions before his passing in 2021.
