Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed delivered a pointed response to President Donald Trump's recent insult. Trump had called El-Sayed "full of shit" during an event in Las Vegas earlier this week.

In an interview with SkyNews' James Matthews on Friday, El-Sayed was asked about the president's comments. "At least I don’t let mine go in the middle of the Oval Office," El-Sayed replied, a remark that appeared to reference public jokes about Trump. El-Sayed also stated, "I’m a gift to the state of Michigan."

Trump, in addition to his expletive-laden insult, accused El-Sayed of being a "communist." Trump and other Republicans have increasingly used the "communist" label for Democrats in the lead-up to midterm elections, characterizing their policies as extreme.

"They want to go right down to the bottom of the barrel. That’s communism. They want it to be a communist country. We’re not letting them have it as a communist country. Not even for a minute," Trump said, according to the report.
