Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) has publicly celebrated Conor McGregor's recent injury during UFC 329, escalating a feud that began with an altercation at the 2021 VMAs. McGregor sustained a knee injury just 69 seconds into his fight against Max Holloway on Saturday in Las Vegas, marking an abrupt end to his highly anticipated return to the UFC after a five-year hiatus.
Following the fight, MGK shared a series of posts on Instagram targeting McGregor. One post included a photo of their 2021 VMA encounter and clips, with a caption that read, "Knees weak of old age, the real Conor can’t stand up @thenotoriousmma," accompanied by a clown emoji. He followed this with a video where he further mocked McGregor's injury and voiced his animosity.
"I'm aware I did a post yesterday and I should probably apologize for absolutely nothing, homie. F–k this dude, that’s how beef works, We don’t like each other," MGK stated in the video, referencing their ongoing conflict. "We don’t age the same, my knees are awesome."
MGK also referenced the VMA altercation, questioning the lack of full footage of the event. "Where the f–k is the rest of the footage where we toss this little guy like a piece of dirty drawls across the red carpet?" he asked. "That’s why all the footage starts with him far away."
Despite some commenters criticizing his remarks, MGK did not back down, concluding his tirade with a sarcastic comment about McGregor's brief fight time. "Thank you for the walkout being longer than the fight. You wasting everyone’s time. It’s pissing me off."
The initial encounter between MGK and McGregor occurred at the 2021 VMAs, where McGregor allegedly threw a punch at the musician. Shortly after that incident, McGregor had invited MGK to his next fight, an offer that appeared to be unreciprocated.
McGregor, who has one fight remaining on his UFC contract, is expected to require knee surgery and aims to return to competition after his recovery. The UFC 329 fight was McGregor's first in five years.
