New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has undergone a vasectomy, his wife Katia revealed in an Instagram post on Wednesday. The couple, who are parents to three children, have decided to complete their family.

Katia Lindor shared a video showcasing a meticulously assembled snack basket and humorous cards prepared for her husband. One card humorously declared, “Snip snip hooray it’s vasectomy day!” with a future date of October 14, 2026. Another read, “It’s a whole new ballgame Happy Vasectomy Day!” with a personal note to Lindor, “Paquito, Thank you for taking one for the team! Blessed with the best teammate. No more babies.”

The custom snacks included a play on words, such as “Snips Ahoy” instead of Chips Ahoy, and a box of Sour Patch Kids with a “No more” sign. Cooling boxer briefs were also part of the gift for the five-time MLB All-Star.

The procedure comes as the Mets concluded their season with a last-place finish in the National League East, posting a 74-88 record and missing the postseason for the second consecutive year.

Lindor appeared to react with a smile to the gifts, with Katia noting in her post, “He’s home and we’re giggling together.” The couple are parents to daughters Kalina Zoé, 5, and Amapola Chloé, 3, and 18-month-old son Koa Amani.
