A Memphis woman has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing a man found under her child's bed. The incident occurred on Thursday when the woman, identified as Kendra Scott, 36, discovered the man, Rodderius Morton, hiding in her home.
According to a police affidavit, Scott told officers she "saw a dude under my kids' bed, and I did what I had to do." Officers arriving at the scene discovered Morton in the front yard with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
A witness in the area told police that Scott was heard yelling, "Who's at my house?" before entering the home and finding Morton under the child's bed. After Morton left the home, reportedly without a weapon, Scott yelled "Get out of my house, ----- !" The witness also stated that Morton had been invited into the home through the back door. A single gunshot was heard as Scott and Morton were on the front porch.
Documents indicate that Scott had previously told a witness, "if she sees a boy in my house, I will put a hole in his ---."
Scott is also charged with employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. She is currently being held without bond. Fox News Digital has reached out to Scott's attorney for comment.
