The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has shared that her daughter, Lilibet, makes her "feel brave" and that her "superpower" is "being a mum." She expressed these sentiments in a promotional video for "Cookie Queens," a new documentary produced by her media company, Archewell Productions.
The documentary, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, follows four young girls as they navigate the challenges of being top sellers in the Girl Scout cookie business. In a Q&A session with InStyle magazine, Markle responded to a child's question about her superpower by stating, "Being a mum." She elaborated, "I feel like we have superpowers because we juggle it all and enjoy it all with grace and grit at the same time."
When asked what makes her feel brave, Markle told another child, "Every day, when I feel a little bit like, ‘Oh gosh, can I do this?’ I go: ‘Lili would do it.’"
Archewell Productions partnered with Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films on "Cookie Queens," described as a coming-of-age story centered on Girl Scouts and their cookie sales. The film explores the collision of childhood and ambition within an $800 million industry.
Markle also shared her thoughts on which cookie she would be, choosing the "Trefoil," which she described as "classic" and "sweet." She advised young girls to "follow their gut" and identified her former math teacher, Miss Linda, as her childhood role model.
Speaking about her inspiration from the Girl Scouts featured in the film, Markle noted their multi-dimensional nature and honesty. She also highlighted the camaraderie and mutual support among the girls, saying, "I think we're our own little troop!"
In January, Markle delivered a speech at Sundance, referring to the film as a "powerful and meaningful depiction of something that is an American tradition." She further described it as a "modernized" look at the girlhood experience, showcasing the complexity and layers of young women who are on the path to becoming strong leaders.
Meghan and Prince Harry established Archewell Productions in 2020, which has an ongoing partnership with Netflix. The company has previously produced the documentary series "Harry & Meghan," Meghan's lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan," and other projects including "Live To Lead," "Heart Of Invictus," and "Polo."
