Matthew Broderick, 64, and his son James Wilkie Broderick, 23, recently traded the city for a beach day in the Hamptons. The father-son duo were seen enjoying the Atlantic Ocean and spending time together on the shore.

Broderick wore blue swimming trunks, while his son opted for colorful trunks as they waded into the water. Both were observed with smiles on their faces, testing the ocean temperature before taking a swim. James Wilkie appeared to shiver slightly upon emerging from the waves but maintained a cheerful demeanor. James flashed a smile as he rode the wave alongside his dad

After their swim, Broderick returned to the shore to dry off with a towel. Broderick dried off with a soft white towel

James Wilkie is the son of actors Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, with whom he has two younger twin sisters, Marion and Tabitha. The young Broderick graduated from Brown University in 2025 and has been pursuing an acting career. He had a small role as a valet in the 2024 TV series "Lady in the Lake" and appeared with his father in an episode of the CBS series "Elsbeth" in 2025. He also starred in the 2025 short film "Why Not, Pat?" His upcoming projects include the comedy "Open Hose" and the feature film "Days Ending in Y."

Matthew Broderick previously shared that James was initially nervous about acting alongside him on "Elsbeth." "It was great. We had two days together," Broderick told E! News last year. "It was really fun to hang around the craft service table and eat snacks. He was nervous but he got over that. We had a great couple of days."

Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken about the advice she and Broderick give their children regarding their careers. "I really want my children to be educated in the ways that are fulfilling to them," she said on "The E! News Sitdown With Bruce Bozzi." "I don't think that there is one way to be an educated person or to be equipped to be an adult and try to fashion a life for yourself after what would be considered 'finishing college' - let's say 22 years old."

Parker and Broderick married in 1997 and welcomed James in October 2002. They later had twins, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, in June 2009. Parker recently concluded her role as Carrie Bradshaw in "And Just Like That" and is set to reprise her role in "Hocus Pocus 3." Broderick, known for "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," is slated to appear in the upcoming comedy-drama "Pretend I'm Not Here."
