Matt LeBlanc, the 58-year-old actor best known for his role as Joey Tribbiani on the sitcom "Friends," was seen in a rare public outing with his daughter, Marina, 22, in Los Angeles this week. The pair were photographed in the Woodland Hills neighborhood on Wednesday.
LeBlanc, who recently honored television director James Burrows, was dressed casually in dark blue jeans, a black short-sleeved shirt, and a black cap. His daughter, Marina, wore a patterned shirt, red trousers, and white sneakers, carrying a dark red leather purse and a water bottle. They were observed walking through a crowded parking lot.
The actor shares Marina with his ex-wife Melissa McKnight, to whom he was married from 2003 to 2006. LeBlanc has spoken in the past about his daughter's health, noting that she was diagnosed with cortical dysplasia before her first birthday. The condition occurs when groups of cells in the cerebral cortex do not form properly before birth and can cause seizures and affect motor skills, according to the Cleveland Clinic. LeBlanc previously described this period as "a very dark" time and admitted he largely stayed home.
However, Marina eventually outgrew the condition. LeBlanc has also discussed his daughter's perception of his iconic role on "Friends." In a 2017 appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," he mentioned Marina was indifferent to the show. By the following year, he shared that she would occasionally watch it if it appeared while channel surfing and often asked him questions about his character and the filming process, finding his on-screen actions humorous.
LeBlanc made a public tribute to James Burrows, who directed numerous episodes of "Friends" and other notable shows like "Frasier" and "Cheers," following his death last month. LeBlanc posted on Instagram, calling Burrows a "true icon" and expressing his condolences.
