Mason Haynes, a prominent bodyguard who provided security for the Kardashian family and other high-profile celebrities, died on July 4 at the age of 52. His death occurred in a road traffic accident, just two days before what would have been his 53rd birthday.

A GoFundMe campaign launched by his family described Haynes as "a giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart." The tribute highlighted his dedication to friends, stating he would "cross countries to help a friend," and emphasized his roles as a "protector. A mentor. A prankster."

Haynes was known for his work with Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Kanye West. He was part of the security detail during the 2016 Paris hotel robbery involving Kim Kardashian. He also reportedly worked with celebrities such as Lewis Hamilton, Charlie Puth, Nicki Minaj, and Kevin Hart.

Trojan Security UK, Haynes' employer, paid tribute to him on Instagram, calling him "an absolute legend in the Close Protection game." The company shared a photo of Haynes with Kris Jenner, captioned "RIP Big Mason. Gone too soon. Rest easy and fly high Brother."

In a 2020 interview, Haynes discussed the importance of maintaining professional boundaries with clients, stating, "Many bodyguards make the mistake of thinking that they’re friends with their clients. And as soon as you blur the line between professionalism and friendship, I think you’re in serious trouble."

Funds raised through the GoFundMe are intended to provide Haynes with a "send-off he truly deserves" and to assist his immediate family with financial pressures following the sudden loss. His family expressed that he leaves behind his wife, Fay, his daughter Brooke, and his son Noah.
