Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the 40-year-old twin actresses-turned-fashion moguls, were recently seen on a casual outing in New York City. This rare public appearance comes weeks after their former "Full House" co-star Jodie Sweetin revealed details about their relationships with the show's cast.
The Olsen twins were observed ahead of New York Fashion Week, though their luxury fashion brand, The Row, is not scheduled to present during the event. The sisters are slated to unveil their Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Paris Fashion Week on September 30.
During their outing, Mary-Kate wore an all-black ensemble featuring a flowy top, relaxed-fit jeans, and leather sandals. Ashley was seen in a white T-shirt, baggy black shorts, and a sweater draped around her neck, carrying a pair of blue jeans. Both wore sunglasses, and their hair was parted in the middle.

Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on "Full House," discussed the Olsen twins' connection with their "Full House" castmates on the podcast "Comics and Kicks." She stated that while everyone remains on good terms, the twins were only eight years old when the show concluded. "Everyone's on good terms with them, but they were eight years old when this show stopped," Sweetin noted. "Then they did all those movies and all that stuff that I don't know that they loved doing all the time."
The Olsen twins began their "Full House" journey as infants, jointly portraying Michelle Tanner. Sweetin noted that at age eight, their memories of the set and the cast might differ from those who were on the show throughout their formative years.

After "Full House," the twins transitioned to a prolific career in television movies and entertainment through their company Dualstar. They eventually stepped away from the spotlight in the 2000s to focus on their highly successful fashion careers as founders of The Row. Sweetin suggested their desire for privacy stems from the intense media scrutiny they faced from a young age.
"They don't want attention and I get it. They had so much and were so invaded and so for public consumption, I totally understand why they don't wanna do that," Sweetin said, explaining their absence from the Netflix reboot "Fuller House."

Despite their retreat from acting, the Olsen twins have maintained ties with some former "Full House" colleagues. They were present at the 2022 funeral of Bob Saget, their on-screen father. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse, shared that Mary-Kate and Ashley were instrumental in bringing cast members together at the service, expressing their gratitude for their "Full House" experience.
