Martha Stewart, 85, recently referred to her ex-husband, Andy Stewart, as a "jerk" and discussed infidelity within their nearly 30-year marriage in her Netflix documentary.

The couple was married from 1961 until their separation in 1987, with their divorce finalized in 1990. Stewart admitted in the documentary that she had an affair with an "handsome Irish man" during their marriage and also accused Andy Stewart of infidelity.

When asked by People if she had heard from her ex-husband since the documentary's release, Stewart stated, "Only legally, to remind me of divorce settlement statements, which I had never read." She added that she still has not read the settlement, which she felt was irrelevant after years of arguments.

Stewart, who shares a daughter, Alexis Stewart, 60, with her ex-husband, also offered advice to young women. "If you're married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he's a piece of s**t. Get out of that marriage," she advised. In a candid moment during the documentary, when asked if she had an affair early on, Stewart quipped, "Yeah, but I don't think Andy ever knew about that."

Stewart met Andy Stewart on a blind date when she was 19 and he was 23. She told People that she continues to socialize, though she finds having a partner less important at this stage of her life. "The older you get, the less you really need a mate, I think," she said. She also noted that she has dated younger men and is not a lonely person.

Stewart, an author of 102 cookbooks, recently celebrated her 85th birthday. She shared a photo on Instagram of herself enjoying a hot tub in Maine, writing that she planned to use it daily during her stay.
