Scott McCristal, a groom from the reality television show "Married at First Sight," has shared the results of his recent hair transplant and is warning others about the critical importance of proper aftercare. McCristal, 33, documented his journey on Instagram, showcasing his healing scalp and expressing satisfaction with the procedure.
He described the hair transplant as "the best thing I've done," fulfilling a long-held desire to address his balding. McCristal noted that he experienced some swelling and a restless first night, which he identified as normal parts of the recovery process. He consulted Dr. Gamze Aksakal in Brisbane for the treatment, which cost $18,000. McCristal stressed that the decision should prioritize quality and service over cost, emphasizing the role of aftercare and the procedure itself. "It comes down to things like the after-care and what they do with the hair in the procedure," he stated.
McCristal outlined his aftercare regimen, which included keeping his head elevated, washing his hair, and applying a special ointment when his scalp felt dry. He cautioned that while the healing process itself is not overly complicated, failure to adhere to the prescribed steps can lead to significant complications.
To illustrate the potential risks, McCristal shared a video of content creator Max Jacobasch, who also underwent a hair transplant. Jacobasch experienced severe swelling, particularly around his eyes, on the third day post-procedure. McCristal, however, expressed confidence that diligent adherence to aftercare instructions would help him avoid similar adverse effects.
McCristal was previously paired with Gia Fleur on "Married at First Sight," but they separated before the show's final vows. He has since moved on with his new girlfriend, Brienna Stockdale. The couple has been open about cosmetic procedures, with Stockdale having recently undergone a nose job in Turkey.
