Married at First Sight Alums Party in Sydney Following Show Breakups

Newly single "Married at First Sight" (MAFS) participants Bec Zacharia and Mel Akbay were recently seen enjoying a night out at the launch of the Sheep Dog Dog House at the Newtown Hotel in Sydney. The event, which celebrated the whiskey brand's pop-up takeover, also drew "Love Island Australia" alum Phoebe Spiller.

Zacharia, 36, and Akbay, 28, appeared to be in good spirits as they posed for photos and socialized. Zacharia wore a black turtleneck, satin miniskirt, and sheer stockings, while Akbay opted for a more casual black top, blue jeans, and an oversized coat, accessorized with a Sheep Dog cowboy hat.

Phoebe Spiller, who found fame on "Love Island Australia," attended the invite-only celebration wearing a black crop top, wide-leg jeans, and a brown blazer. She was seen posing with male friends in front of a colorful Sheep Dog display.

The Sheep Dog Dog House takeover at the Newtown Hotel is scheduled to run from August 13 to August 30. The dog-themed pop-up features specialty cocktails, ice-cold shots, a "Bark Booth," and various events, including dog-friendly dining and grooming services.

Zacharia's appearance comes after her marriage to Danny Hewitt on MAFS concluded at Final Vows. She expressed devastation when Hewitt stated he saw her only as a friend and could not envision a future family together. Zacharia later described the experience as one of the most difficult of her life, claiming Hewitt ceased contact shortly after filming.

Akbay's marriage to Luke Fourniotis on MAFS was also short-lived. The couple experienced immediate clashes due to personality differences and differing expectations, leading Akbay to admit a lack of romantic connection. They departed the show separately before Final Vows.

Spiller had previously found a connection with Mitchell Eliot on the fourth season of "Love Island Australia" in 2022. Despite becoming runners-up, the couple announced their separation in July 2024.

Also in attendance at the launch event were MAFS alum Tristan Black and newly married contestant Jackson Garlick.
