The new Mark Wahlberg crime thriller, "By Any Means," is now available exclusively in movie theaters. The film, directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn, is loosely based on the true story of Gregory Scarpa, a mafia hitman who became an FBI informant.
Wahlberg stars as Scarpa, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II portraying Special FBI Agent Wayne Strider, who is based on the real-life agent Lindley DeVecchio. The ensemble cast also includes Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry, David Strathairn, and Giancarlo Esposito.
"By Any Means" opened in U.S. theaters on Friday, September 4. Information on showtimes can be found via Fandango. The film is not currently available to stream online or on any subscription services.
As a Paramount Pictures release, "By Any Means" is expected to eventually be available on Paramount+. However, an official streaming release date has not yet been announced. If the movie follows a similar release pattern to other recent Paramount films, it might become available for digital purchase or rental in early October 2026, with a streaming debut on Paramount+ around early December 2026. This timeline is speculative, and Paramount+ is expected to merge with HBO Max at some point.
Viewers will eventually be able to purchase or rent "By Any Means" on digital platforms, but it will not be available to stream for free with a Prime subscription in the near future. Paramount+ offers two subscription tiers: Essential, which is ad-supported and costs $8.99 per month, and Premium, which is ad-free and includes Showtime titles, costing $13.99 per month. A seven-day free trial of the Premium plan is currently available.
