Fox News Media announced Thursday that it has concluded its relationship with financial journalist Maria Bartiromo after more than 12 years. The company did not provide a specific reason for her departure.
"We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years, and wish her all the best on her next chapter," Fox News Media said in a statement.
Bartiromo hosted "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business Network and "Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street." The final episode of "Mornings with Maria" aired Thursday morning. Following her departure, "Mornings with Maria" will be renamed "Mornings with Fox Business" and will feature rotating anchors. Similarly, "Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street" will become "FBN's Wall Street" with rotating anchors.
Her weekly Fox News program, "Sunday Morning Futures," will be temporarily hosted by Jason Chaffetz.
During her tenure, Bartiromo frequently interviewed former President Donald Trump, who often praised her work. Trump posted on his Truth Social platform Thursday, calling Bartiromo a "total professional" and "true warrior" whose fans would be unhappy with her exit.
Vice President JD Vance, speaking to reporters, expressed his fondness for Bartiromo, stating, "I love Maria. I think she's an amazing person, an amazing talent. Whatever she does, she's gonna do great, and I wish her all the best. She's a very, very dear friend."
Bartiromo's time at Fox News Media included controversy. A 2025 lawsuit filed by voting technology company Smartmatic alleged that Bartiromo disseminated false information on air regarding claims of election fraud. Bartiromo had previously denied allegations that she personally lobbied former Attorney General William Barr to investigate claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election, stating she was performing journalistic duties by asking follow-up questions. A lawsuit involving Fox and Dominion Voting Systems was settled in 2023.
Prior to joining Fox News Media, Bartiromo spent 20 years at CNBC as a financial journalist and previously worked at CNN. At CNBC, she was recognized for her pioneering live reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and received an Emmy Award for a documentary about Google.
