Senator Marco Rubio has voiced strong disapproval of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s dietary regimen, which reportedly consists of meat and fermented foods. During an appearance on a podcast, Rubio described the diet as "crazy" and impractical, particularly highlighting the need to transport sauerkraut.
"I'm not gonna travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It's ridiculous! I can't do it. It's not sustainable for me," Rubio stated, questioning the viability of such a diet for someone with a demanding travel schedule.
Rubio's comments came in response to a question about Kennedy's "Make America Healthy Again" campaign. While Rubio expressed general support for the campaign's goal of promoting health, he drew a sharp distinction regarding its proposed methods.
Rubio's own dietary habits were also discussed on the podcast by his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio. She suggested that the senator has a fondness for Pop-Tarts and fast food, a claim Rubio acknowledged, calling the Pop-Tart "one of the great American innovations."
The senator also shared his experience with the ketogenic diet, describing the initial 72 hours as a period of "massive withdrawal from sugar and carbohydrates" that was "near-psychotic."
