Marcellus Wiley, a former NFL player and current ESPN analyst, has denied allegations of domestic battery and threatening to kill his wife, Annemarie. Wiley was arrested on Saturday, July 4, and booked into the Orange County Jail following an alleged altercation that took place over the holiday weekend.

Fresh details from the arrest affidavit claim Wiley threatened his wife and became physical with her in front of their seven-year-old daughter. According to Annemarie, Wiley stood over her and poked her in the cheek with one finger, threatening to kill her. She also stated that Wiley has a history of violence towards her, which he denies.

Wiley, 51, released a statement on X on Monday afternoon stating, "I completely and unequivocally deny these allegations, and I'm certain the truth will prevail." He added that he would speak more freely when he is able to, citing his responsibility to protect his children.

Annemarie, a former cast member on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," called the police after the alleged incident, which occurred in a hotel room at the World Marriott. Their three children were reportedly present in the hotel room when law enforcement arrived.

Deputies interviewed Wiley, who was subsequently released on a $1,000 cash bond on Sunday night.

Wiley's NFL career spanned a decade, from 1997 to 2006. He played as a defensive end for the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2001. After retiring from professional football, Wiley transitioned to a career in sports media, including co-hosting ESPN's "SportsNation."

This arrest follows recent allegations of sexual assault against Wiley. In May, four new accusers filed claims in New York, expanding on a previous lawsuit from 2023 in which three women accused him of rape during his time at Columbia University. Wiley has consistently denied all sexual assault allegations.
