Algirdas Bardauskas, 44, has been fined £1,800 after pleading guilty to illegally dumping three refrigerators on Fold Street in Wolverhampton.

Bardauskas deposited two fridges around 2:30 p.m. on August 3 of the previous year, according to city council records. He later returned with a third fridge and left it on the roadside. He admitted to the illegal disposal after being interviewed by council officers and shown photographic evidence of his actions.

Bardauskas claimed he needed the van he used to be empty for work that day and had intended to retrieve the fridges later. He stated he returned a week after the initial dumping but found they were no longer there. He apologized for his actions and accepted the consequences.

He was fined £738, ordered to pay a £295 victim surcharge, and assessed costs of £1,793.16. The council stated that the awarded costs would be reinvested into its environmental crime service.

An eyewitness who reported the fly-tipping incident will receive a £100 Enjoy Wolverhampton gift card as a reward. Cllr Qaiser Azeem, cabinet member for resident services at City of Wolverhampton Council, emphasized the council's commitment to combating fly-tipping and holding offenders accountable. He also encouraged public reporting of such incidents.
