Raymond Williams, 61, has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife, Tania Williams, 49, after stalking her for several hours before attacking her outside her home in Norwich on January 17, 2026. A jury at Norwich Crown Court convicted Williams, a former Norfolk police community support officer, of murder.

The court heard that Williams was consumed with jealousy after seeing his estranged wife with another man during a night out. CCTV footage presented to the jury showed Williams moving from bar to bar in Norwich as he tracked Tania's movements. He was seen leaving his accommodation and heading into the city center, eventually locating Tania at Revolucion de Cuba on Queen Street.

After leaving the venue with Tania, who appeared to be distancing herself from him, Williams followed her as she headed towards a bus stop to go home. He then drove to Yarmouth Road, where his car was parked, and lay in wait. Tania was seen on CCTV getting off her bus and walking toward her home in Catherine Gardens.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., neighbors reported hearing screams, including a female voice saying, "What are you going to do? Kill me?" Tania was discovered shortly after with severe injuries and significant blood loss. Despite efforts by neighbors and paramedics, she died at the scene.

Williams was arrested by armed police at his accommodation within two hours of the murder. Investigators noted that he was wearing different clothing than he had earlier in the evening, having disposed of his original attire in an attempt to conceal evidence. CCTV also captured him acting suspiciously around bins, and footage showed him dropping his watch, a gift from Tania, into a drain.

In a statement released through Norfolk Police, Tania Williams' daughter described her mother as a woman of great faith, passionate about her four children. She was remembered as "undoubtedly beautiful, honest" and generous, with a bubbly personality. The family intends to honor her memory by pursuing her passions and dreams.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Sam Pontin stated that the investigation was thorough and complex, and expressed hope that the verdict would provide some measure of justice for Tania's family. Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on September 21.
