A man driving home to Rhode Island shortly after the Fourth of July weekend reported seeing a Bigfoot-like creature cross the road in front of his vehicle in Voluntown, Connecticut. The witness described the being as approximately 8 to 8.5 feet tall and covered in coarse, matted brown hair.
According to the account provided to The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), the driver had just left a rented cabin and crossed a bridge when the creature "jumped into the road from my right heading to the woods on my left." He stated he had to brake to avoid a collision with the "bipedal, 8-8½ foot tall creature."
The witness, who was a skeptic prior to the encounter, reported that the creature did not stop or look at him as it crossed. He described its legs as shorter than its torso and its arms as hanging down to knee height, estimating an arm span of 8 to 9 feet if fully outstretched. He asserted it was not a bear and that he was certain it was a cryptid.
When asked about the creature's sex, the witness stated he did not know but added, "I'll say this, if the females are that big, I don't want to see a male." Responding to a question about whether the creature had breasts, he replied, "No, there were no boobs."
The encounter reportedly lasted between 60 to 90 seconds, after which the witness took time to regain his composure before continuing his drive home. He later spoke with two BFRO investigators and recounted the experience on camera near the location of the sighting.
