A 22-year-old man appeared in court facing terrorism charges after allegedly being found with an Irish Republican Army (IRA) manual on his mobile phone. Jac Glyn Edwards, from Barmouth, Gwynedd, is accused of four counts of possessing information useful to terrorism and one count of purchasing a handgun.

The charges state that Edwards allegedly possessed documents that would be useful to someone committing or preparing an act of terrorism, including an IRA manual and a manual on urban guerrilla warfare. He is also accused of purchasing or acquiring a blank-firing pistol in June 2024.

The case has been transferred to Liverpool Crown Court, where a preliminary trial date has been set for October 2027. Edwards was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at the same court on November 6 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
