MAGA donor Eric Deters has announced his intention to sue U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle and her legal team, asserting that he owes her no money. The declaration comes in the wake of a Wall Street Journal report alleging that Guilfoyle solicited bribes.

The Journal reported that Guilfoyle pressured Deters to pay off her substantial $100,000 credit card debt prior to her September confirmation hearing, in exchange for increased access to the Trump administration. Messages purportedly from Guilfoyle to Deters stated, “Honey please, I need you to get this done for me today.”

Guilfoyle’s attorney has disputed the authenticity of these messages, claiming that Deters owed Guilfoyle a balance for speaking engagements and consulting work that she was attempting to collect before her ambassadorship commenced. When asked about this claim, Deters told CNN’s John Berman, “I do not owe any money [to] Ambassador Guilfoyle, and that’s why I’m going to sue ’em for defamation. It’s gonna be fun.”

Guilfoyle confirmed her departure from her position on Tuesday via X, asserting her innocence. "I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional. I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service,” she wrote.

President Donald Trump had previously confirmed he was considering firing Guilfoyle, stating, “We’re not happy.” Deters, in response, predicted, “I think she’s gone. I think he has to fire [her].”

Regarding Guilfoyle’s legal team’s assertion that he owes her money, Deters remarked, “And you know what’s so funny? If I was such a cash-strapped millionaire, then how come I have never had to pay one single person one nickel in any litigation-type expense? I’m just fine.” He added, “But I can tell you who’s not fine: Kimberly Guilfoyle.”

The Journal also reported that Guilfoyle was recorded boasting to a businessman and promising to make him “a lot of fucking money.” Deters believes the evidence he has presented is insurmountable for Guilfoyle, describing the situation as “grifting on the highest level, and it’s just an awful look for the administration.”
