Singer Madison Beer showcased her diamond engagement ring as she made her first red carpet appearance since her engagement to NFL player Justin Herbert. Beer, 27, and Herbert, 28, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, have been together for approximately one year and announced their engagement last week.
The couple appeared at the Variety Power of Young Hollywood 2026 event in Los Angeles. Beer wore a plunging green minidress with a halter neckline and a cinched waist, paired with white heels and silver drop earrings.
Herbert discussed the proposal, admitting he was more nervous about asking Beer to marry him than his first NFL start at age 22. "The proposal, for sure," he stated when asked which event caused more nerves.
Los Angeles Chargers teammates indicated that the engagement was not entirely unexpected. Safety Derwin James Jr. mentioned that Herbert had spoken about his intentions for some time. "He told me a long time ago he was going to do it," James said. Linebacker Daiyan Henley shared a similar sentiment, recalling a conversation from early in the 2025 season about Herbert's plans to propose.
Beer has been a visible presence at Chargers games and training camps. She made a surprise appearance at a recent training camp, where she and Herbert were seen engaging in public displays of affection. The couple's relationship became public last summer, and they made a more formal debut in Week 5 of the 2025 season. Herbert also featured in Beer's music video for her song 'lovergirl,' released in May as part of her 'locket deluxe' album.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh commented on the engagement, expressing happiness for the couple and offering advice: "Attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind together."
