ABC News anchor Liz Cho and her estranged husband, Josh Elliott, have agreed to resolve their divorce proceedings in private arbitration. The couple will address issues including alimony, property division, and legal fees before a non-biased third party.
Connecticut Judge Elliot N. Solomon will serve as the arbitrator, with the authority to find either party in contempt of court if necessary. The arbitration is scheduled for October 2026, and a decision is expected within 30 days afterward. No record or recording of the proceedings will be required.
Elliott, 55, filed for divorce from Cho, 55, on June 20, 2025, after nearly 10 years of marriage. The divorce has been marked by contentious court filings from both sides.
In November 2025, Cho requested communications from Elliott concerning romantic relationships and employment searches. In January 2026 filings, she accused Elliott of removing furniture and furnishings from their Connecticut home, as well as a valuable watch and earrings from her jewelry bag.
Elliott's lawyers denied these allegations, stating he removed limited personal property to create a safe haven from Cho's behavior. They also denied the jewelry claims. Elliott, in turn, accused Cho of monitoring his phone calls, searching his belongings, and leaving the marital residence for extended periods, impacting the care of their dogs. He also alleged Cho exhibited erratic behavior, including an incident over grapes for his daughter and shutting off lights on his teenage daughter during cold weather.
Cho had previously filed a motion for a protection order to prevent Elliott's legal team from deposing her, objecting to requests for personal communications and documents. However, reports indicate she later agreed to provide certain communications.
The couple met while working at ABC and married in July 2015. Elliott previously worked for "Good Morning America," NBC, and CBSN, while Cho continues to anchor "Eyewitness News."
