Lisa Faulkner has expressed profound gratitude for her husband, John Torode, praising his unwavering support following her breast cancer diagnosis. The television personality shared a touching tribute to Torode on his 61st birthday, just weeks after announcing her own health battle.
Faulkner, 54, posted a selfie with her husband, accompanied by a message highlighting his presence during her difficult time. "I couldn’t have got through these past few months without you by my side," she wrote in a social media post. She described Torode as "the kindest man with the gentlest biggest heart" and expressed her love for him. The couple's dog, Rory, was also mentioned as a recipient of Torode's affection.
This public acknowledgment of support comes after Faulkner shared her own health update. She revealed that she had undergone surgery for early-stage breast cancer two weeks prior, describing it as a "big op" from which she is recovering. Faulkner also stated that her results were clear and that "they've got everything out," adding that she would be undergoing radiotherapy in the coming weeks.
Faulkner emphasized the importance of early detection, crediting her mammogram for the timely diagnosis. "I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up," she urged. She also extended her thanks to the National Health Service (NHS) for providing access to mammograms and early treatment.
In a previous message shared on Instagram Stories, Faulkner also thanked her followers for their outpouring of support, stating how touched she was by their kind words. "Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart," she wrote.
Faulkner and Torode, a well-known chef, married in October 2019, having first met on the set of MasterChef in 2010. Their relationship began a few years later.
