Lisa Faulkner has "through the big hills" of her breast cancer battle, according to her close friend Angela Griffin. Griffin provided an update on the actress's health, revealing that Faulkner has endured a "really tough time" following her diagnosis.

Faulkner, 54, disclosed in July that she had undergone surgery and was preparing for a course of radiotherapy. Her husband, John Torode, shared at the time that her diagnosis had "changed everything."

Speaking on Thursday's This Morning, where she appeared to discuss the upcoming series of Blue Lights, Griffin offered a positive outlook on Faulkner's recovery. Griffin mentioned having recently had lunch with Faulkner and mutual friends Tamzin Outhwaite and Amanda Holden.

"She's doing really well, it's been a really tough time, but she's through the big hills of it all," Griffin said, as an image of Faulkner and Griffin appeared on screen.

Torode had previously told The Times that Faulkner's breast cancer diagnosis had "changed absolutely everything." He emphasized that his wife's health and being with her were the most important things in his life.

Faulkner herself echoed this sentiment, telling the publication that cancer's arrival made her realize "none of the other stuff matters." She added that the experience clarifies what is truly important.

In a tribute to her husband for his birthday a few weeks after her diagnosis, Faulkner expressed her gratitude for his support. "What a year it's been but we held each other's hands and I couldn't have got through these past few months without you by my side," she wrote, calling him her "best friend" and thanking him for his kindness.

Faulkner, a TV chef, first shared news of her diagnosis online, explaining her absence from social media was due to undergoing cancer treatment. She revealed that she had surgery two weeks prior, describing it as a "big op" but confirming that "they've got everything out" and that results showed she was "all clear."

She expressed gratitude for the NHS and the availability of early screening, encouraging others to attend their mammograms. "I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up," she stated.

Faulkner and Torode, a former MasterChef star, married in October 2019. They first met on the show in 2010 and began their relationship a couple of years later.
