Singer Lionel Richie is recovering after being hospitalized mid-performance last week, according to his ex-wife, Brenda Harvey-Richie. She provided an update on his health via X, formerly Twitter, stating, "Lionel is OK and will be back on the stage."

Richie, 77, experienced a dizzy spell on Wednesday during the opening night of his "Sing a Song All Night Long" tour at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota. Videos from the event showed the "Hello" singer taking a seat multiple times during his performance. "When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down," he told the audience.

Despite attempting to continue, Richie eventually left the stage, and saxophonist Dino Soldo announced the show's cancellation due to the singer not feeling well. Following the incident, Live Nation announced the postponement of his next two scheduled shows in Chicago and Ohio, citing doctors' advice for him to rest and recover. The statement expressed Richie's regret for the inconvenience and promised that rescheduled dates would be announced soon.

Richie is expected to resume his tour, which features co-headliner Earth, Wind & Fire. The singer himself has not yet personally commented on the hospitalization.

Richie was married to Brenda Harvey-Richie from 1975 to 1993, and they share a daughter, Nicole Richie. He was previously married to Diane Alexander from 1995 to 2004, with whom he has two children, Miles and Sofia Richie.
