Lindsey Buckingham has confirmed that his long-standing feud with former Fleetwood Mac bandmate Stevie Nicks has ended. Buckingham stated that he and Nicks are now speaking frequently.
"Stevie and I are talking all the time now," Buckingham told E! News. He also suggested that the upcoming year will be significant due to a Fleetwood Mac documentary planned for 2027, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the band's 1977 album "Rumours."
Buckingham, 76, described the process of reconciliation among the band's surviving members—himself, Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie—as a "circular healing process." He indicated that the unresolved issues from 2019 have since been addressed and healed. While he did not confirm a potential tour, he emphasized the importance of the band's ability to work together again.
Last year, Buckingham and Nicks reportedly mended fences to some extent by collaborating on the remastering and re-release of their joint album, "Buckingham Nicks."
The former couple's relationship famously ended during the recording of "Rumours." Nicks had previously expressed resentment over lyrics Buckingham wrote for the song "Go Your Own Way," which she felt unfairly alluded to her personal life following their breakup. Buckingham was later fired from Fleetwood Mac in 2018 following an altercation.
Reports suggest that Nicks and Buckingham had minimal contact until a celebration of life for former bandmate Christine McVie in 2022. Nicks had previously stated that she had given Buckingham numerous opportunities during their time together.
