Lindsey Buckingham has shared an update on his relationship with former Fleetwood Mac bandmate and ex-girlfriend Stevie Nicks, indicating that their long-standing feud has been resolved.

Buckingham, 76, stated that he and Nicks, 78, are now "talking all the time" and have "healed and worked out" their past conflicts. The musician made these remarks at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event.

The pair's romantic relationship spanned from 1972 to 1976, after which they were involved in a protracted feud lasting approximately 25 years. Their history began in the 1960s as high school classmates, and they initially performed as the duo Buckingham Nicks before joining Fleetwood Mac.

Buckingham and Nicks are currently collaborating on an upcoming Apple TV documentary, Fleetwood Mac: Rumours and Revelations. Buckingham believes the process of creating the documentary has been a "circular, healing process" for all band members. He noted that in 2019, things were not in a good place, but "all of that has been healed and worked out."

Buckingham's tenure with Fleetwood Mac has seen departures and returns. He first left the band in 1987, rejoined in 1997, and was subsequently removed in 2018. Reports at the time suggested disagreements over touring and unspecified reasons for Nicks' inability to work with him. Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood described the situation in 2018 as an "impasse" and hitting a "brick wall," leading to the decision that the band could not continue with Buckingham.

In the summer of 2025, Buckingham and Nicks hinted at the end of their feud by sharing posts of lyrics from their 1973 song "Frozen Love" on social media and began following each other on Instagram.

Regarding the possibility of revisiting Fleetwood Mac's past hits, Buckingham expressed that he does not plan to do so in the immediate future, preferring to focus on moving forward. He suggested that the coming year, referencing the 2027 documentary release, "should be a pretty interesting year" as "quite a few things will reveal themselves."
