Lidl US is recalling Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating and Apricot Filling due to undeclared wheat, soy, milk, and eggs. The affected cookies were sold in 11.6-oz blue boxes with ingredients listed in a foreign language, not in English, on the back.

Consumers with an allergy or sensitivity to wheat, soy, milk, or eggs could experience a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product. The recall covers cookies sold at all Lidl stores in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and the District of Columbia between July 15 and July 22, 2026.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled cookies. Lidl advises customers who purchased the product to discard it or return it to the store for a full refund without requiring a receipt.

While the exact cause of the labeling error was not specified, such issues can occur when products intended for foreign markets are imported into the U.S. Lidl stated that the health and safety of its customers is its top priority and apologized for any inconvenience.

Approximately 30 to 50 million Americans have a milk sensitivity, and about 6.7 million have a milk allergy. Additionally, around six million Americans are allergic to eggs, and nearly two million have soy or wheat allergies. Allergic reactions can range from mild digestive issues to severe, life-threatening anaphylaxis.
