Professional eater Leah Shutkever has reclaimed the Guinness World Records title for the fastest time to eat a burrito. She achieved this feat by consuming a 1.35-pound burrito in 30.75 seconds at the Guinness World Records headquarters in London.
This time surpasses the previous record of 31.47 seconds set by speed eater Miki Sudo. Shutkever had previously held the record, first setting it in 2019 and then breaking her own mark in 2022 with a time of 32.35 seconds, before Sudo took the title.
Shutkever, who holds 42 Guinness World Records, described her entry into record-breaking as accidental. She began by filming food challenges for her YouTube channel and was later contacted by a television show to make her first attempt official.
"Competitiveness definitely plays into the ability to attempt and break a world record," Shutkever told Guinness World Records. "I think personally, I am silly, bold, and brazen enough to put myself in the firing line for all sorts of things."
