Lauren Goodger recently shared her thoughts on her past relationship with Jake McLean, who died in a car crash in July 2022. Goodger made these reflections while out for dinner with her daughter Larose.
Goodger, 39, was photographed in a plunging grey corset bodysuit paired with black wide-legged trousers during the dinner at The Blue Boar in London. She styled her hair straight, wore black sandals, and accessorized with a gold pendant necklace. Her daughter, Larose, was also present and seen using a tablet next to her.
In recent statements, Goodger said she felt there was "unfinished business" with McLean prior to his death. She told OK! Magazine that McLean, despite their "tumultuous on-off romance," McLean "is in my dreams constantly." Goodger also mentioned that she still communicates with McLean's mother and sister, who expressed a wish that she and Jake had a child together. Goodger stated she believes there was "some sort of future" for them.
McLean, whom Goodger dated intermittently for four years after meeting in 2012, died when his car fell 70 feet off a cliff in Bodrum, Turkey. An inquest later revealed that he was nearly three times over the legal drink-drive limit and had cocaine in his system. The coroner concluded that his death was a road traffic collision, with the post-mortem indicating skull fractures and brain damage as the cause.
Goodger is a mother to Larose and their late daughter Lorena, who died at birth four years ago. She shares these children with ex-partner Charles Drury. Goodger has expressed that McLean would have met Larose if he were alive and that they had discussed starting a family years ago.
The inquest into McLean's death, which occurred while he was traveling in the early hours along a road between Bodrum and Yalikavak, took nearly a year to gather information from Turkey. The scene of the crash showed plastic debris, tyre tracks through bushes, and the car landed in a ravine. Yazmin Oukhellou, McLean's girlfriend at the time of the crash, survived the incident.
Records indicate McLean had a criminal past, including a conviction in 2008 for a home invasion where he conned his way into a mother's house before a masked gang raided the property. He was reportedly imprisoned for other offenses since then. Goodger acknowledged awareness of his past convictions in 2013 but stated she was willing to overlook them, believing he regretted his actions.
