Authorities in the United Kingdom are investigating the death of singer Lauren Bennett, 36, as a probable suicide, according to reports. Bennett, known for her work with the group LMFAO, passed away on May 29 in England. Her father, Richard Bennett, has publicly stated his belief that the National Health Service (NHS) failed to provide adequate treatment for his daughter in the five months preceding her death.

"Months before her death, Lauren experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication," Richard Bennett stated. "As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her. We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need."

An official investigation into Bennett's passing was initiated on June 12, with the Kent and Medway Coroner Service leading the inquiry. An inquest is scheduled for October 30. The specific cause of Bennett's death has not yet been officially revealed, nor has the medication she was reportedly reacting to.

Lauren Bennett was a member of the girl group G.R.L., which experienced tragedy in 2014 when fellow member Simone Battle died by suicide at the age of 25. Bennett and the surviving members of G.R.L. reunited and toured in 2016. Later, in 2017, she formed the duo BENNETT with her brother Ryan, exploring folk, country, blues, and rock genres.

Originally from Meopham, Kent, England, Bennett is survived by her 6-year-old daughter, Harlow, whom she shared with dancer and actor Kenny Wormald. Her father described her as "deeply loved" and expressed hope that she would be remembered for her "remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was."
